Meeting convened 20.15
We welcomed our special guests Kyle Critchell & Geraint Parry. An enjoyable Q & A followed with most members contributing.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read & agreed as accurate.
Dave read the treasurer’s report – with the recent outgoings(C of E donation and Player sponsorship) we have a balance of £684.00 at present. The C of E donation cheque is to be presented to Steve Cooper prior to the Oxford kick-off.
Member Ian Edwards was drawn out of the hat to be our representative on this year’s team photo. The picture was taken during the Open Day.
The Rushden bus is full for Sunday next. We are to book the 17 seater for the Altrincham match.
Linsey Jones (WST) has asked if the Trust could join us in our ‘Forecast’ fundraiser with profits being split pro-rata. The members feel that we should stay independent – if they feel the need to run a similar venture then so be it. We don’t feel that the punters would overlap in any substantial way.
Linsey has also asked if we could appeal to any of our members to help with the recently reformed Junior Dragons steering group.
We have agreed to donate £100.00 again towards the Junior’s Christmas party.
On the Open Day Bryn went on the ground tour and reported that Paul’s trophy was situated in an excellent position, top of stairs near director’s lounge.
The Collier’s Park visit was a great success and, hopefully, other visits can be planned.
FUNDRAISERS
At the recent Open Day we raised £38.00 on our second hand sports books sale. A number of really good condition books were left over and Jnr. member Adam Connah is to attempt to sell these on E Bay.
Forecast sheets were distributed to members present. This time we elected to send out sheets to non e-mail members in the hope of increasing sales.
It was agreed that, due to the financial problems at Colliers, our ‘Race Night’ proceeds will be donated entirely to this. Tony is to write to local businesses appealing for sponsorship.
A raffle on the night raised £52.00
Next meeting Wednesday 24th September, all welcome
