£800 Cheque Presentation
Buckley Reds chairman Bryn Jones lead a party of club members who handed over £800 to club director Barry Horne which is being used to buy a new heat transfer press to iron names onto the back of shirts.
The old press had seen sterling service over the years but was now starting to damage shirts when names and numbers were being applied to shirts.
“At a club recent meeting we asked our guest for the night Don Bircham if there was anything specific that the football club was in need of and that we could contribute towards,” recalled Bryn.
“Don suggested the heat press and we all thought it was a good idea. As it can also generate more funds for the club with putting names and numbers onto supporters’ shirts, as well as making sure the players are well turned out.”
Accepting the cheque on behalf of the club, Barry was delighted at another generous gesture.
“All our supporters groups do some much in backing the club and it really is appreciated,” he said.
“As a community club, this exactly the type of support we’re looking for and I hope that the members of the Buckley Reds can see that their fundraising efforts are being put to good use.”
